Endovenous Laser Ablation Training

Dr. Leary is a board certified phlebologist and has been nationally recognized as an Endovenous Laser Ablation Trainer.  He has trained many practitioners nationwide.  He was previously the only Endovenous Laser Ablation trainer in California for Diomed Laser Company, which is the company that developed the first endovenous laser procedure or EVLT.

Dr. Leary is currently an Endovenous Laser Ablation trainer for Biolytec Laser Company.   Biolytec Laser Company is the creators of the newest Endovenous laser technology.  According to Dr. Leary, “Technology continues to evolve and it is exciting to train practitioners on the newest Endovenous Laser and radio frequencies.”  The latest generations of lasers that Dr. Leary uses and trains with are gentle, with little or no post-op pain to the patient.  There is also very little bruising and patients can continue with their normal activities after the treatment.  It is estimated that more than 25 million Americans suffer from venous disease.  The development of new laser treatments for venous disease opens up many new treatment modalities for approaching and treating superficial venous disease.

For physicians interested in learning these innovative new treatments, we can arrange teaching and proctoring sessions in our Newport Beach office with Dr. Leary.  Training can be set up on a personal basis targeting your particular needs or interest. Individual sessions on the practical applications of laser therapy are helpful for the novice, as well as the more experienced practitioners.

Laser training can be directed towards a specific machine of your choice.  We offer Enodvenous Laser Ablation trainings with the 810 laser, the new 1470 or Venus Closure device (Closure FAST).  Training sessions consists of the overview of anatomy and path physiology of superficial venous reflux.  The clinical outcomes of different venous therapies, including microfoam will be discussed as well.  The practitioner will become very familiar with the venous reflux exam and ultrasound guided endovenous chemical ablation and sclerotherapy.  Ultrasound will be used in all aspects of the endovenous ablation procedure, including tips for easy precutaneous venous access, tumescent anesthesia and proper fiber placement at the saphonfemoral junction.  The practitioner will be immersed in a busy phlebology practice and will become familiar with all aspects of venous disease including initial work up, actual treatments and follow up appointments.
